Why Is TAURON Launching One of Poland’s Largest Public Lighting Modernization Programs? Across Europe, cities are experiencing growing pressure to decrease energy usage, lower operating costs, and meet aspiring climate objectives. In response, public illumination infrastructure has become one of the first targets for modernization. A main example of this trend is TAURON’s extensive illumination upgrading initiative in Poland. Supported by government-backed KPO funding, the project includes the modernization of over 55,000 illumination points across over 30 cities.
