1. Twist-lock photocontrol

We design and provide three main categories of Twist-Lock photocontrols based on our customers’ specific application needs: Thermal type, Electrical type, and Electromagnetic type. These photocontrols are available in various voltage ranges, including 12 & 24 VDC, 105-305 VAC, and 480 VAC (105-528 VAC applicable voltage)

1.1 Thermal Type photocell

The thermal photocell features high-temperature and high-voltage protection, effectively preventing damage from instantaneous current surges during the startup of high-voltage lamps. This makes it especially suitable for traditional lamps like high-pressure sodium lights, significantly extending their lifespan and making it an ideal choice for complex lighting environments. With its excellent stability and durability, the thermal photocell reduces wear on lamps while managing light changes, ensuring long-term stable operation of the system.

1.2 Electrical type photocell

The electrical photocell responds quickly, making it ideal for street and public area lighting. It supports a variety of voltage specifications (such as 12V, 24V, 120V, 277V and 480V), enhancing compatibility and flexibility with different lighting systems. Additionally, many electrical photocells come with built-in overload protection, which automatically disconnects power in case of excessive current, safeguarding both the fixtures and the photocell to ensure safe system operation. Not only does it save energy, but it can also connect with smart lighting systems to meet the demands of modern smart cities.

2. NEMA Receptacle

Our NEMA sockets are primarily categorized into ANSI C136.10 & ANSI C136.41 standard configurations of 3P, 5P, and 7P sockets. Additionally, we offer customized high-waterproof series sockets suitable for various street lighting projects. These sockets are designed to meet the needs of different environments and applications, ensuring reliable power connections and safe lighting control. Whether used in urban streets, commercial areas, or other outdoor lighting locations, our NEMA sockets provide stable performance, contributing to the development of intelligent lighting solutions.

2.1 NEMA 3P Socket

Lead Top NEMA/ANSI C136.10 3P receptacle is typically the most cost-effective option. To better meet customer needs, we offer various design solutions, including options for fixtures with pre-drilled holes and sockets without holes. Additionally, we support customization of sockets based on the specific requirements of our customers, ensuring that our products can perfectly fit a variety of application scenarios.

2.2 NEMA 5P/7P Socket

Zhejiang Lead Top NEMA dimming receptacles are ANSI C136 compliant. The receptacle connector is integrated into the light fixture and receives a base that serves as the foundation of the lighting control. The mated receptacle and base provide a sealed interconnect solution between the luminaire and the control module. This product series offers UV-resistant and high-impact-rated covers as an accessory to the base, effectively sealing and protecting the enclosed lighting controls, maintaining street light dimming and other functionalities even under harsh conditions.

3. NEMA Accessories

All LEAD TOP twist-lock photocell controllers consist of a NEMA LT-100B base, a PCB electronic circuit, and a cover with either single or double-layer shells. These bases provide a universal 480V power and signal interface between the wireless smart controller base and the luminaire receptacle in LED outdoor roadway, street, and area lighting applications. The base has a diameter of 76.5±0.3 mm, includes 3-pin twist-lock terminals, spring leaf signal contacts (C136.41 versions only), and is equipped with a sealing gasket.

2. How do you decide between 3-wire, 5-wire, and 7-wire options?

3-Wire Socket:

Applicable Scenarios: Commonly used in non-smart street lighting projects, mainly for basic switch control, such as automatic lighting at dusk and dawn.
Advantages: More affordable, suitable for simple lighting needs.

5-Wire Socket:

Applicable Scenarios: Suitable for systems that require dimming or other control functions. It can be used in conjunction with smart controllers for more flexible functionality.
Advantages: Provides additional signal wires to support more complex control needs.
Note: The 5-wire socket only supports 0-10V dimming or DALI dimming. If you wish to change the dimming method in the future, you will need to replace the socket.

7-Wire Socket:

Applicable Scenarios: Suitable for smart and dimming sensors, equipped with 4 signal wires. Whenever you want to use 0-10V dimming or DALI dimming, the 7-wire socket can meet your needs without requiring replacement.
Advantages: Offers higher flexibility, able to support multiple dimming options simultaneously.

Selection Suggestions:

Basic Needs: If only simple switch control is needed, a 3-wire socket may be sufficient.
Smart Control: If the system requires dimming or other smart functions, a 5-wire or 7-wire socket would be more appropriate.

When paired with our photocontrols, our standard products can achieve a minimum waterproof rating of IP66. However, after implementing special waterproof treatments for the photocontrols and sockets, our photocontrol kits can reach waterproof ratings of up to IP67 and even IP68.
